Car Pool Lane

Car pool lanes are the answer when traffic is jammed. Sometimes it means getting
ahead of others on ramps, other times it entitles you to a faster moving lane
to the far left. Why does it offer such an amenity? It is offered because you
played it smart and didn’t drive alone. Car pool lanes are a benefit
because they encourage people to ride together to save the environment. Riding
together makes this better? Sure, your family may fight in the car. Or perhaps
someone in your car-pooling group makes you late from time to time, but riding
together is better. For example, when the driver is alone, no one is there
to make sure he or she isn’t falling asleep. Riding alone, there is also
no one to help you with a map or directions when you are lost.
We are all at this together. Instead of just riding alone, we ought to be holding
each other accountable, challenging them and encouraging them to pursue their
faith and walk in Christ. We are so much stronger as a body of believers together
than apart in a dark world of peer pressure and temptations.
I Thessalonians 5:11 & 14 (NASB) “Therefore, encourage one another
and build up one another, just as you are doing…We urge you, brethren,
admonish the unruly, encourage the weak, be patient with everyone.”
As we are all headed in the same direction, unified by the same Spirit, let
us ride together.
**Following up** Think about finding yourself an accountability partner if
you don’t already have one. Partner up with them so that together you
may encourage and challenge one another to walk with faith. Think of some ways
that you can be an encouragement for other believers. Pray that the Spirit
will unite you with other believers in unity and help you to grow together
in Christ.
