An Indie Heart: Introduction

Last fall, my friends and I did a movie marathon through the Indiana
Jones series. After a long night of movies, I really pondered about it and God
laid a message on my heart. Indiana Jones (a.k.a Indie or “Junior”)
was always on a mission to find some treasure. Perhaps Indie wasn’t a believer
when it came to the religious backgrounds of his treasures, but there is so much
we can learn from this fictional character. He was very intelligent in finding
and cautiously using clues –especially when it came to the traps set for
the fools after the treasure. Despite the various roadblocks thrown in his way,
Indie would always persevere in his journey after the treasure he had set out
after. After he found the treasure, he wouldn’t sell it to make a fortune,
he put it where it “belonged” in the museums.
What is the treasure? Have you found it? Have you sought after it with all you
heart? All you life? What have you given in order to obtain the treasure? And
if you have the treasure, what are you doing with it? I’m not talking about
a treasure that is physical, or temporary for that matter, but something which
held its value yesterday, holds it today and will hold it tomorrow. A treasure
fit to satisfy for eternity.
Matthew 13:44-46 “The kingdom of heaven is like a treasure hidden in a
field. When a man found it, he hid it again, and then in his joy went and sold
all he had and bought that field. Again, the kingdom of heaven is like a merchant
looking for fine pearls. When he found one of great value, he went away and sold
everything he had and bought it.”
...one last question, “What
good would it be, if you had everything, but what you didn't have, was the only
thing you need?” -Audio Audrenaline
