Let's Talk: me & God

The concept we have of God is truly important because we are created with
a natural desire to have God in our lives. If we see God as distant or unreachable,
we will have a hard time finding fulfillment because that void will not be
filled. ‘Quote from Ravi Zacaharias’
Revelation 1:6-8 (MSG) Glory and strength to Christ, who loves us, who blood-washed
our sins from our lives, Who made us a Kingdom, Priests for his Father, forever-
and yes, he’s on his way! Riding the clouds, he’ll be seen by every
eye, those who mocked and killed him will see him, People from all nations
and all times will tear their clothes in lament. Oh, yes. The Master declares, “I’m
A to Z. I’m the God who is, the God who was, and the God about to arrive.
I’m the Sovereign-Strong.
So let’s talk about the God who loves us. We’ve got the Sovereign
God, who created us. His love for us is not because of our physical traits.
Thankfully, He doesn’t define His love for us over how we look (like
many humans do). However, if it were about looks, that wouldn’t matter
because He made us in His image. His love for us in not of material value.
It isn’t for money or success, because what we have has no comparison.
His love for us in not about popularity. And His love for definitely isn’t
conditional. He calls us His beloved even though we screw up, day after day.
His love is so great that He is willing to lay down His life for us, that we
may be open to a relationship with God. His love is so great that He sees through
Christ to us saying, “All beautiful you are, my darling; there is no
flaw in you.” SOS 4:8. He doesn’t see us for our wrongs, failures
or shortcomings; He sees the potential in us.
Take it to the throne room; talk to God and don’t get comfortable
with an ordinary walk:
How are you responding to the love of God in your life? Would your love carry
you as far as laying your life down for God?
If Jesus wrote a letter to you, like the letters to the churches in Revelations,
would he use the line in 2:4 “Yet I hold this against you: You have forsaken
your first love?”
Do you have a healthy image of God?
How are you exalting the Sovereign-Strong, King of the Universe?
Make a list of the characteristics of God you most thankful for.
